He also thought it was okay to let our place fall down about our ears because we were JAFAs. But that was nothing compared to Scotland. However, back in Oz with eyes wider to these things after having travelled, and "POM-bashing" is just as bad here (and SO cringe-worthy. Even the word 'pom' seems so childish. And I have teachers in my staff room who mouth off about them. I guess it's just the old bully tactic - slag off anyone who is not like you)

Althought it's irritating (and if you're heart is set on living in the UK it can be hurtful) it's nothing compared to what others have endured for their race. Mine was due to MY discussion of teachers in general who quit in 6 weeks (quite common), without giving the job (teaching) enough time to really see how it all unfolds. I was verbally attacked over my views, of course by teachers who left in 6 weeks and ran (sobbing) back to the US or Canada having given up. (My favourite was when they kept insisting that I had just got 'lucky' -- they got bad schools and I got a good one! As you know, my blog doesn't tell where I work, who I am, etc. And if my school were so good (BTW, it's a failing school in OFSTEDs books!), why did they have to fill so many positions with overseas trained teachers this year? Because none of the Brits wanted to work there, that's why. LOL! But these teachers didn't want to admit that they just didn't want to work at the job as long/hard as it took to succeed. Six weeks isn't long enough to be able to judge anything fairly, much less teaching in the UK. It's a tough job, without doubt.)

Anyway, the idiots on my blog have all given up, so I'm able to open it up again, but I do moderate still. Pathetic we have to do that, eh?

I of W was fantastic -- you must go there, if for nothing more than to sit on Sandown or Ventnor beaches. Get a weekly bus pass for 20 quid and just enjoy the island. Reasonably cheap to live there, relaxing . . . If I ever looked for a new teaching position, it would be there. (There are even palm trees on the southeast shore!) Why people have nothing better to do than leave rude anonymous comments is completely beyond me, and to be honest, pathetic. You are an arseface!! I guess you sit at home eating crisps getting fat and leaving nasty comments on peoples blogs. I'm guessing that the closest you have got to a relationship is with your right (or possibly left) hand. How about you have a bit of a look at yourself and see if you can change the way you are heading, either that or just cut your own wrist.. go on.. you know it makes sense... no-one likes you and the world would be better if you were dead.. really!!
